Mozambique welcomes you to this years' OpenMRS Implementers' annual meeting!
This year's theme is:
Harmonizing and strengthening the OpenMRS ecosystem.
This is the 13th OpenMRS Implementers’ conference, the 7th in Africa and the 2nd to be held in Maputo, Mozambique at the Joaquim Chissano International Conference Center.
People new to OpenMRS who want to connect to others using the platform around the world
Experienced OpenMRS implementers who want to share their experiences and learn from others
OpenMRS platform developers – anyone building systems to integrate with or extend OpenMRS
Developers of related health and healthcare application software

This event provides an opportunity for developers to collaborate and improve their technical skills in OpenMRS, implementers to share their best practices from implementations, and users to propose and prioritize their top features in future releases of the software. The event will also include visits to OpenMRS implementation sites along with a discussion afterwards for participants to share their experience and suggestions.

Wire transfers take a period of 2 weeks to reflect into our accounts. Thus once payment is done, we kindly request you to share the remittance advice as proof of payment and ease of follow up.

The Hackathon is 1 and 1/2 days. It will commence on 2nd Dec 2019 and come to close on 3rd Dec 2019 at 1:00 pm to pave the way to the official opening of the conference on the same day.
The different teams will have time throughout the conference to continue working on their solutions and will make a presentation of their achievements to the community on Friday 6th Dec 2019.
This meeting will take place on 3rd Dec 2019 as from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.
Any community member is encouraged to join this meeting to bring up issues or ideas and join or lead operations and strategy tasks and projects in the community.
The Conference will officially open on 3rd Dec 2019 as from 2:00 pm
The site visits are scheduled to take place on Thursday, 4th Dec 2019 as from 12.30 pm to 4.00 pm.
Profiles of the different sites will be shared once they are finalized.
Maputo International Airport services direct connections from a number of international destinations including major air hubs in Africa, Europe and UAE.
Citizens of the following eight countries can visit Mozambique without a Visa for up to three (3) months: Botswana, Cape Verde, Malawi, Mauritius, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia.
Citizens of Australia, Canada, EU, UK, USA and other African countries not listed above require a visa to enter Mozambique. It may be possible to get a visa on arrival but it more guaranteed if there is no Mozambique embassy in the country issuing the passport and thus it is highly recommended to get the visa in the country of origin. As you visit your in-country Mozambique embassy, ensure you have the following minimum requirement at hand:

Note:Visa on arrival
Please note:
One cannot get a visa on arrival by presenting an invitation letter, other relevant documentation and $50 upon arrival at the airport. The Immigration office in Mozambique needs to have received your details beforehand from the organization hosting you. Therefore, if you are getting the Visa on arrival ensure you have sent us a copy of your passport to us, which will we submit to immigration. If you have not shared your passport the last non-negotiable deadline is 23rd Nov 2019. After this date, the immigration office will not allow any other passport submission as it takes at least a week to process the visa on arrival.

The Joaquim Chissano International Conference Center is located within the same vicinity as the MAPUTO AFECC GLORIA HOTEL which is the recommended accommodation option for this year's conference.

Each year, we offer travel grants to outstanding community members who would like to attend our meeting and are in need of financial assistance.
As you can see from this list, there are many ways to contribute to OpenMRS! Applications will be reviewed and scholarships awarded based on the strength of the applicant's statement of interest and contributions to OpenMRS.
To apply for one of our scholarships, please complete and submit the OMRS19 Scholarship Application Form by 1 October 2019.

Business sponsorship is available to those registering four participants without additional cost. If your organization is only sponsoring 3 participants, the cost will be an additional $200 USD to be a business sponsor; if only 2 participants, there is an additional cost of $300 USD; for one participant, there is an additional cost of $400. As part of your business sponsorship, there will be an area to have a display to share information at a designated location and time during the meeting.
